News: Evaluation of Norwegian peace efforts (1997-2009) published

The report was presented in Oslo on 11 November 2011 and has been widely disseminated on the web (groundviews , transcurrents). Swisspeace organises an additional seminar around the evaluation and broader implication for small state mediators (like Norway and Switzerland) on 29 November 2011.

The evaluation was conducted by a core team consisting of Gunnar Sørbø (www.cmi.no), Jonathan Goodhand (www.soas.ac.uk) and Bart Klem.

Bart Klem Research does research in the field of development and violent conflict. Our studies are oriented at enhancing policy and practice. Drawing from our research experience, we offer customized policy advice, trainings and evaluations.

Geographically, our work mainly focuses on Afghanistan, Indonesia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka. Some of our efforts have no geographic focus, but explore a specific theme or regional and worldwide developments.

Bart Klem Research is run by Bart Klem, a development sociologist and a journalist by formation. Most studies and projects are carried out in joint collaboration with other researchers, universities and partner organisations.
